Spicy Korean Fried Chicken Recipe or Yangnyeom Chicken

Hi guys, today I want to share with you all about Korean cuisine, Korean spicy fried chicken or Yangnyeom chicken. According to sources, this Yangnyeom Chicken recipe was popularized in 1982 by Yang Hee Kwon. Let's just say about fried chicken, so to speak, everyone loves to eat. It doesn't matter if it's a kid or an adult. There are actually many ways to cook this chicken besides frying it with turmeric as we usually do. He was inspired when he saw some of his customers struggling to bite into hard / crusty fried chicken. So, he even tried to create a recipe so that the fried chicken skin was coated with flavored sauce so that the sauce could soften the texture. So, he created a dish called Yangnyeom Chicken. What is unique about this Korean fried chicken is of course the sweet, sour and spicy sauce. Funnily enough, it can make people drool. Ingredients for chicken broth
  •  10 chicken thighs or chicken wings (clean & toss)
  •  7 cloves of garlic
  •  2 inches of ginger
  •  1 tablespoon black pepper
  •  1 tablespoon sugar
  •  pinch of salt


Way to cook chicken
1. Mix 7 cloves of garlic, 2 inches of ginger, 1 tablespoon black pepper, 1 teaspoon sugar and a pinch of salt. Pour all the ingredients into a moss. (use a grinder though).
2. Sprinkle the pounded ingredients on the chicken and marinate for 30 minutes. It's been a while. 1 hour is fine.

Fried Chicken Flour Ingredients
  •  1 tablespoon wheat flour
  •  1 tablespoon cornstarch


How to fry
  1. Mix 1 tablespoon flour and 1 tablespoon cornstarch into a container and mix well.
  2. Put the marinated chicken into the flour mixture and fold the chicken over it.
  3. Before frying chicken, make sure the oil in the pan is hot enough. Control the fire properly so the chicken is cooked well. If the chicken looks brown, you can lift and add oil.


Ingredients for sauce
  •  3 cloves of garlic
  •  2 tablespoons chili powder
  •  2 tablespoons sugar
  •  4 tablespoons chili sauce
  •  3 tablespoons tomato sauce
  •  2 teaspoons of honey
  •  1 tablespoon lemon juice
  •  Salt to taste


How to prepare the sauce
  1. Stir fry garlic and chili powder until crisp with a little oil. Add chili sauce, tomato sauce, sugar and honey. Leave for a moment and then add the lemon juice. Stir well and finally add salt to taste.
  2. Cool before mixing with the fried chicken.

Material for decoration

  • Beans (as appropriate)
  •  Onion slices.
  1. Sprinkle the decorative ingredients over the chicken with the sauce.
