How to cook Tteokbokki

This tteokbokki is Korean food. Tteokbokki is made from soft rice cakes, fish cakes, and red chili sauce called gochujang. But if we are Malaysians it is hard to get gochujang. We can replace the gochujang sauce with chili powder or chili powder. Foods derived from Korea is very popular with Malays nowadays. Here's how to make my version of tteokbokki.

Ingredients for making rice cakes.

  • Half packs of glutinous flour
  • 3 tablespoons of rice flour or wheat flour (Can use what you have)
  • Enough water
  • A little salt
  • Sesame oil if anything, if nothing.

How to make or cook rice cakes. First, add half a pack of wheat flour and three tablespoons of rice flour or wheat flour. After that, a little salt and sesame oil. And lastly, mix the water gradually so that it does not become hard or overly soft. When ready to mix and mix ingredients thoroughly. Roll the dough into lengths and cut it to your liking. Boil the cut rice cake and boil it until the rice cake goes up. Drain it or put it in cold water

Ingredients for making tteokbokki sauce.

  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil.
  • 5 or 6 chilies
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder or chili powder (if you are a fan of spicy gifts, you can put 5 tbsp).
  • One tablespoon of vinegar
  • A little sugar and anchovies or chicken broth.
  • A cup of the cooking water.
  • A few sesame seeds and also green onions.

From the start, heat the oil. Once the oil is hot, add the chili pi which has been blended with garlic. Wait until the oil is broken, add powdered fish or chicken broth. Then add water, vinegar and chili powder. Make sure the chili powder is mixed with water before putting it in the pan. Add enough sugar. When you have finished adding the ingredients, put the rice cake you made but into the sauce. Add some green onion and then let it become a thick sauce. Once the sauce has thickened, sprinkle the sesame seeds over the tteokbokki.

I hope that with my sharing of these dishes you can make these dishes at home. Thank you. -_-
